The Counseling Center provides individual and group counseling services for students at no charge. Counseling is available for issues such as stress, eating disorders, incest, gender and family concerns; crises assistance is offered on a walk-in basis. All students are eligible to use services.

Student Health Center

The NMSU Student Health Center offers outpatient primary healthcare by a staff of physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals. Full-Time and Part-Time NMSU & DACC undergraduate and graduate students with valid NMSU ID and verification of enrollment are eligible for services. Fees are charged for any Lab, X-ray, or Pharmacy services, as well as for any medical supplies. Insurance claim filing assistance is offered with proof of insurance and receipts. Students may obtain additional information on supplemental health insurance through the SHC Insurance Office.

Wellness, Alcohol and Violence Education Program (WAVE)

The Wellness, Alcohol and Violence Education Program (WAVE) is a harm reduction program that educates the campus community on issues of personal safety and well-being. WAVE's Peer Educators provide fellow students with information and strategies regarding alcohol use and the prevention of sexual assault and other forms of interpersonal violence. WAVE creates bridges between campus entities to cultivate safe environments for the NMSU community and provides services and support to students.
