Academic Advising
See website for college advising office locations.
Academic advisors help students register for classes, choose a major, learn about degree programs and meet graduation requirements. At this page you can find out how to contact the advisors for each college. This is a great place to start if you need to select, add, and drop courses; understand NMSU policies and connect to resources that promote success in and out of the classroom.
Blackboard
Blackboard is a web-based, interactive, e-learning management system used by NMSU. It allows for instructors to use the Internet to deliver a course and allows for distance education students to continue in their education without being physically on the NMSU campus.
Course Schedules
Published for every semester, the course schedule contains important information about classes, registration, tuition, fees, and even when your final exams are scheduled. This is something to keep handy throughout the semester.
Distance Education at NMSU
Milton Hall Room 185, Las Cruces, NM 88003
Hours: M - F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
(575) 646-4692 or call toll free 1 (800) 821 - 1574
Distance Education at NMSU allows students physically remote from the campus and/or instructor may continue in their education. Students with limiting schedules also benefit from the freedom of distance education. Course delivery may include face-to-face interaction and/or synchronous or asynchronous written, electronic, or other media forms.
Final Examination Schedule
The Final Examination Schedule is a comprehensive list which shows the final exam dates for the Fall 2008 semester. The only exceptions are departmental exams. Examinations will be held in the course's usual lecture/lab room. Any students having more than three examinations scheduled in any one day may notify the instructor of the last examination listed and ask for alternate arrangements to be made for examination.
NMSU on iTunes U
iTunes U is a free, hosted service for NMSU that provides easy access for students to their educational content, including lectures and interviews, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can download content to your Macs or PCs, listen to and view that content, or transfer it to a iPod for listening or viewing on the go. Instructors can create content for a course by recording lectures, developing assignments, creating videos and podcasts.
STAR Degree Audit
Students can run automated degree checks through the STAR (STudent Academic Requirements) degree audit system. Use your NMSU User Name and NMSU Password to access the system and discover degree plans for every major NMSU offers.
https://www.nmsu.edu/online/ then click "STAR Degree Audit" on the left
Transcripts and Academic Records
Registrar's Office, Educational Services Building
Hours: M - F 8:00 - 5:00
(575) 646-3411
Official transcripts and academic records can be requested through the NMSU Registrar's Office. Student enrollment status is continually updated and unofficial transcripts and academic records are maintained for all past or present students.
Undergraduate Catalog
Available online
This is the source of most academic information for undergraduate students. The catalog is a document for students to keep throughout their work at NMSU. It contains very detailed information about majors and minors, as well as course descriptions.
Weekend Courses through the College of Extended Learning
Milton Hall room 185
Hours: M - F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
(575) 646-5837
